I'm just Ram Charan, not Ram Charan Teja

Written By CineGlamour on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 | 6:26 am

While the media and the public has began referring to him by the name Ram Charan Tej since a very long time, the actor himself seems to be unhappy with it. He prefers to be called Ram Charan over Ram Charan Tej.

Finally, Charan has decided to clarify this to one and all. He used the social media to send this message the film lovers and the media. "My dad named me Ram Charan not Ram Charan Tej. So I feel good when people call me just "Ram Charan". I also request the media to note this," he wrote on his twitter page.

Now the question is why didn't the actor object when the director's used Ram Charan Teja in the title cards of his film. Times change, people change, tastes change! So everybody, from now onwards Mega Powerstar is just Ram Charan, not Ram Charan Tej!

NTR throws kerchief on Racha director

Written By CineGlamour on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 | 2:33 pm

Well, any director who delivers a blockbuster with a top hero can rest assured that they would get a call from young NTR. NTR always runs after success and successful film formulas to bag hits. He tried to recreate the magic of Pokiri and Magadheera with Kantri and Shakti respectively. Needless to say about the fate of those films at the box office.

However, that didn't stop NTR from following the 'hit' trend. He signed Boyapati Srinu after Simha and Srinu Vytla after Dookudu. Should we specially say that these films would be in the similar lines of their previous movies? After these movies, NTR will be doing one of his future films under Sampath Nandi's direction.

Sampath Nandi proved that he could pull off a star's film with a routine story and concept. His screenplay and grip over commercial elements played major role in making Racha a blockbuster. NTR, who watched Racha recently was reportedly impressed with Sampath's work and is showing interest to do a film under his banner. If all goes well, Aswini Dutt will produce this film on Vyjayanthi movies banner.

Racha's dream run continues

Written By CineGlamour on Saturday, April 14, 2012 | 12:03 pm

Ram Charan's Racha has created a new record in openings. It collected more than 30 crore rupees share in first week and thus beating Businessman's record. Not many believed Racha to do such business after watching the first morning show. Critics ruled out the film's success due to average content.

However, Charan proved everyone wrong by creating a new record in openings. What's astonishing is the film is still getting superb patronage all over. Racha entered second week already and on the ninth day too it has collected very good collections in majority centers. Crowds for matinee and first shows are excellent. Even though there is a slight drop in the morning shows, Racha's run has been phenomenal given its wide release.

Due to public demand, Racha is going to be screened extra 3 shows on this Sunday at RTC X Roads. That shows the film's great run at the box office. At this rate, Racha is surely going to enter forty crore club. Adding to that Racha is also released in Tamil and Malayalam in a big way. Ram Charan turns out to be the new Baadshah of box office with Racha.

Censor Closed Eyes On 'Racha'

Written By CineGlamour on Friday, April 13, 2012 | 9:28 pm

For folks who are new, Dhanalaxmi is a half Telugu, half Tamil Censor officer for AP Censor board. She is known for her 'sharp cutting' works which give tensions to producers and directors. But, her attitude towards 'Racha' became a hot discussion now.

Dhanalaxmi is known for her iron cutting in terms of heroine's waist, navel and cleavage shots. Films like 'Buisnessman' and 'Panjaa' haven't escaped from her scissors and had blurred images all over the skin shows of female artists. Coming to 'Racha', the film was given a U/A certificate saying that all bloodshed was completely eliminated. Then, what about Tamanna's seductive skin shows? Milky beauty made most of her assets pierce the hearts of youth through her glamour on screen.

In 'Vaana Vaana' song alone Tammu babe oscillates her waist and hip, around three times in front of camera giving an ample view of her shapely back. 'How come Dhanalaxmi spared such a hot show of Tamanna in 'Racha' by closing her eyes', a big-shot producer questioned. They say, this officer doesn't like cleavage and navel show, but bare-backs are fine with her.

Racha collects record first week share

Ram Charan has set a new benchmark in terms of collections with his recent outing 'Racha'. The film which was released on April 5th turned into a money spinner at the Box Office.

In just one week, the film has raked in Rs 26.92 crore in AP and Karnataka. If the revenues of Overseas, Tamil Nadu (Tamil version Ragalai) and Rest Of India are included, then the first share will be nearly Rs 35 crore. In it's full run, the collections of Racha are expected to cross the 50 crore mark. So, it's celebration time for the Mega fans!

Hot Tamannah practical outlook on Heroines !

Written By CineGlamour on Thursday, April 12, 2012 | 1:19 pm

It is often considered that the heroines are there for filling the glamour quotient and provide visual delight to the audience. However, times are changing and the presence and character of leading ladies has been on the rise. But here is one girl who has given a very practical outlook of a heroine's position.

She is none other than the milky white beauty Tamannah. Recently she was sharing her thoughts when she reportedly mentioned that for the success of any film, the first place is given to the hero and the second place is given to the villain. Tammu added that it is only the third place that goes to the heroine.

She maintained that it is very rare that heroines get due weightage as the heroes. However, the pretty starlet maintained that she cannot get into women-centric roles as they are very challenging and tough to pull off at the box office. Currently, Tamannah is busy with 'Rebel' and 'Cameraman Ganga Toh Rambabu'.

'Racha' Is Show-Reel For Ram Charan

Some movies never stand out as 'masterpiece' but they lay foundation for the prosperity of their hero. Looks like, same thing is happening with 'Racha' for our Mega Power Star.

Irrespective of an old fashioned story and simple narration, Racha is doing wonders at Box Office only due to the stamina of RamCharan. 'With that thumping energy and thunderous voice, Charan proved the real star in him. It is working in his favor to woo producers from different cine circuits', say critics. Right from Bollywood to Kollywood many big production houses are now gearing up to sign deals with Charan after watching his sparkling show in this latest flick.

A source from Hindi circuit reveals that if Charan scores marks with his Bolly debut 'Zanjeer', then there is no doubt he will become 'star' across the Indian film circuits. One can now say, Racha is more of a showreel of Charan to impress producers than a blockbuster movie.

Racha blockbuster as No other Choice for audiance..

After doing record business over the first weekend, Racha continued to impress on Monday too. The collections on the fifth day are as good as third day, which indicates that Racha is going super strong at the box office. At this rate Racha will break first week record (AP and India) of Businessman by a very good margin.

Luckily, for Racha there is no major release in this week. Adhinayakudu was postponed to 19th of April and therefore Racha will still remain the first choice film for audience even in its second week. Added to that tenth class exams are over now and students and their families will throng to the theaters to catch the latest blockbuster.

Racha is being benefitted by superb timing of release, which would have not been possible if Ram Charan didn't take the risk. Charan was injured during the last phase of Racha shooting and the film's release looked almost impossible at one point. But Charan has completed Singareni Undi song by taking painkillers. His dedication ensured the film's release on time and Racha attained blockbuster status with the help of the long weekend and summer holidays.

Ram Charan's next is even bigger!

Written By CineGlamour on Monday, April 09, 2012 | 8:22 pm

Racha has been doing exceptional business all over. Ram Charan has proved his mettle as a mass star with this movie. He is doing Racha at the box office without a star director. People are wondering what if Racha was directed by a frontline director? The impact and craze would have been much more than this.

If Charan fans are feeling bad about missing the chance of bagging more collections, they need not worry much because Cherry's next film is going to be much bigger for sure. Charan's immediate release after Racha would be Vinayak's movie. This will be released for Dussera. With a star director of Vinayak's caliber, sky will be the limit for Charan's mass movie.

With Racha, Charan has turned the favorite of mass cinema specialists. We can expect a film each from Boyapati Srinu, Puri Jagannadh and other big mass directors in the coming days. If Charan proves to be consistent and maintains a good success rate, then the discussion of number one hero will find a certain answer.

No Fake-Business for Racha

Ram Charan's Racha has put an end to unhealthy trend of announcing fake figures. There were few films in the recent past that bloated up the actual collections which created dirty atmosphere in Tollywood. When Racha officially broke the actual first day record, few expressed doubts that this film may tread in the same trend and announce fake numbers.

But the producers of Racha simply announced the official figure (8.5 crores share) which was very close to reality (8 crores +) and also declared that their movie has set a new record for the opening day. So there won't be any need for the following up biggies to fake the actual figures as there is a genuine record to break.

Producers of Racha are very seniors in the film industry and they know that they don't gain any respect by announcing fake collections. Hence, they stuck to the facts and won the fans hearts. New producers are trying to draw the attention of industry by announcing fake records. That may get them instant popularity, but will never earn them respect. Harsh, but true!

'Dammu's counter for 'Racha'

The first biggie for summer 2012 has arrived in the form of 'Racha' and it has become a success with record openings. However, one thing in the film has caught the attention of the many. Two or three dialogues from Charan which threw a satire has become the hot discussion.

Many say they were hurled at the Nandamuri family only and this has led to few speculations. Now, it is heard that a counter is already underway. Sources say few Nandamuri fans have begun to apply pressure on director Boyapati Srinu to come up with a dialogue or two in Dammu that will counter Racha dialogues mega family.

Despite several cine members urging the fans to enjoy cinema as cinema and not to take it personally, the fans seem to be in a hysteric mode. Young Tiger Jr NTR has got a strong following and it has become more of a prestige issue with Ram Charan rolling out those lines.

Racha 2 days share in AP is Rs. 13 crore

Written By CineGlamour on Sunday, April 08, 2012 | 5:37 pm

Ram Charan’s Racha has been shaking the box office right from the first show was screened. It has set a new record in day 1 collections by surpassing Oosaravelli and Businessman. Racha didn’t see any drop on the second day.

Friday being a public holiday helped the film to get excellent collections. On day 2 the collections in AP alone are close to Rs. 5 crores. Which means the total tally for two days is Rs. 13 crores. Racha is likely to cross Rs. 20 crore mark by the weekend.

Ram Charan’s Racha has clicked well with the mass audience and the reports from B and C centers are phenomenal. A centers too are running to housefuls as of now despite mixed talk from urban areas.

Ram Charan is the new Megastar

Written By CineGlamour on Saturday, April 07, 2012 | 5:38 pm

When Ram Charan created history with Magadheera, most of the film analysts and other heroes fans gave credit to Rajamouli. They didn't even consider the fact that Rajamouli has done films with other heroes in the past and has never broken industry record even once. When Orange flopped, critics again said that Magadheera's credit solely goes to Rajamouli.

But a real mass hero's stamina can't be estimated with a film like Orange. When Racha was announced with a relatively new director, who directed a B grade film as his debut, then the same critics and analysts again said that this film will be the litmus test for Ram Charan's stamina as a star. First three movies of Charan were directed by proved directors. Racha was directed by Sampath Nandi, whose name is not known to many of the regular filmgoers even.

Now Charan has shut all the mouths of his critics with Racha by breaking the first day collection record by a huge margin. He has done this with a new director, weak audio and with a film which did not have any pre release buzz whatsoever. A star's stamina is estimated when he can get this sort of collections irrespective of the director. In that case, Ram Charan is as big as Megastar in terms of crowd pulling capabilities. Keep it up Cherry.

'Naradulu' of Telugu Film industry

Written By CineGlamour on Friday, April 06, 2012 | 8:44 pm

We have recently witnessed the good friendship that Ram Charan and NTR share in real life. There are so many instances where top stars walked hand in hand at various events. But in reel life they are fighting with each other for no reason. There is a dialogue in Racha which made fun of Nandamuri heroes thigh slapping habit.

This dialogue was written by Paruchuri Brothers that wrote dialogues like 'Nenu thoda kodithe aa sound ke chachipothav', 'Madama tippe vamsam lo puttaledura, thoda kotte vamsam lo putta' for Nandamuri heroes. Now they are mocking fun at it in their opponent's movie. This is nothing but creating unnecessary rift between the heroes as well as fans.

Observers say that the writer brothers have been behaving like Naradas in Telugu film industry. Now don't be surprised if they write counter dialogue in an upcoming Nandamuri hero's film. These dialogues may get instant applause from the fans, but it is not right practice for these seniors to create such unhealthy atmosphere.

Rachcha hungama in theatres - Tv9

Charan's first punch to Nandamuri Heroes

In the past two decades, we had seen several dialogues in the films of Balakrishna and Jr NTR, indirectly refering to Chiranjeevi and his family. Balayya's Simha dialogue (Ex: Vallentha Burada Jathi, Bloody Fools), NTR's Ashok dialogue (Ex: Deepalu Arpakunda Chetulu Addu Pedi Me Ammayilu Love Lo Padipotharu - referring to Pawan's Kushi). But Chiru never tried to rub shoulders with them, instead he is busy minding his own business.

However, Ram Charan 'the heir of Chiru' has chosen his own path instead of following his father. 'Edo Choosukuni Thodalu Kotte Type Kaadura Nenu' - This is the dialogue uttered by Charan during the confrontation scene with villains in the climax.

Charan completely changed the equations with his aggressive approach. "Now, it's no more a one-way traffic. Charan will show his punch power from now," says a Mega fan. Let's wait for the reaction of Nandamuri Simhas.

Talk-Of-Town: Chiru's Interval Bang

After taking up the job of 'Racha', this director has worked more to satisfy Chiru and co than himself. Rather focusing on script, his sole focus is projecting Megastar as God. Then, what is this 'interval bang'? Check out.

In a recent interview, director Sampath Nandi has mentioned that Chiranjeevi gave a mind-blowing idea for 'Racha' interval block. With 'Racha' out in theatres, many fans and admirers watched eagerly to find out the kick in that interval point. Much to their dismay, the 'interval' part stands as the weakest sequence of the flick. With no twist or added dynamism to the scene, that bang is regular in Telugu Cinemas since Chiru's times.

One cannot understand what might have prompted Sampath and his team to get so excited about that part. Did really Chiru gave such a punch less idea is talk of the town. They say that Sampath is insulting Chiru with these jokey stuff rather keeping his photo in 'Pooja' room.

Rachcha Movie Review

Written By CineGlamour on Thursday, April 05, 2012 | 4:54 pm

Movie : Racha
Rating: 3/5
Cast : Ram Charan, Tamanna, Mukesh Rushi, Ajmal, Brahmanandam, Ali and others
Director : Sampath Nandi
Producer : Paras Jain, NV Prasa
Banner : Mega Supergood Films
Music : Mani Sharma
Release Date : 2012-04-05

Mega Power Star Ram Charan has done only one film after mighty Magadheera. That was Orange, which didn't go well with the mass audience as they expected a mass masala treat from the star. Now Charan offered them what they wanted with Racha. This film is an out and out paisa vasool commercial entertainer from Ram Charan. This is the first film in which Charan has done a complete mass character. Did he live up to the fans expectations as a mass hero? Is Racha good enough to earn him another hit?

What is it about?

Betting Raj (Ram Charan), who makes a living out of betting, takes up the biggest challenge of his life to save his dying father. As per the bet he will have to make Chaitra (Tamanna), a medico to fall in his love within thirty days. Chaitra's father Ballari (Mukesh Rushi) will be the biggest threat to Raj in doing so. Will Raj win the bet? What will Ballari do? Is there any other angle to this story? All these questions will be answered in the second half of the film.

Performances:

Ram Charan has done a terrific job as the lead man in Racha. Although this character has over the top dialogues and excessive build up, Ram Charan did it as if it was a cake walk for him. He is a bundle of energy and inherited the confidence of his father. He has immense confidence in himself and fantastic screen presence. Director utilized it to the maximum and the output was awesome. Charan fans will be completely impressed with his 'show'. His dances and fights are a treat to watch. Charan can deliver many blockbusters if the directors make use of his capabilities.

Tamanna did well as an actress. She added the glamour factor to the movie and that will draw repeat audiences for sure. Watch out for her sizzling dance moves in the song Vaana vaana. Mukesh Rushi is fine as the villain. Partheepan is good in a small role. Ajmal delivered a neat performance. Brahmanandam provided the comic relief and Ali was hilarious in his brief role.

On the Technical Front:

Mani Sharma's music is good. He scored mass frenzy tunes as per the requirement of the script. Songs are well shot too. Dillaku Dilla and Vaana Vaana are striking on screen. Background score is an asset to Racha. Mani Sharma's experience came in handy for the director. Sameer Reddy's cinematography is very good. The climax sequence is well shot. Editing by Gowtam Raju is right on the mark.

Paruchuri Brothers excelled as dialogue writers after a long time. Despite writing few outdated dialogues, they have done a decent job in making this film a mass masala fare. Director Sampath Nandi surprises one and all with his efforts. He has it in him to handle a big film and a big star. Making the audience involved into the film without boring them with a routine formulaic script itself is a success for the director.

Analysis:

Racha is a film made for the mass audience. The director and the writers never tried to be street smart or creative at any instance. They have set their target and aimed at it without any diversions. Did they hit the target? They have almost hit the bull's eye! Making a commercial formulaic film is the biggest challenge these days.

Why because it will be hard to please the audience of this age with routine stuff. But when you get your basics and formula right, it is not a big deal. The writers and director have succeeded in getting the little things and right and they have created a big impact on screen.
Racha is not for intelligent audience who yearns for variety and freshness. It is a film made for mass audience and they will be pleased with the film. Racha has its weaknesses and strengths. We have to see if this is enough to shake the box office this summer.

Odds are in favor of Racha and the initial talk from the B and C centers is encouraging. Let's see if this positive buzz converts into record breaking collections and ends the drought period of Mega heroes that has been haunting them post Magadheera.

Mass and action film lovers could happily visit Racha theaters. And other so called class audience can wait until they find their Oasis in Tollywood desert.

Ram Charan’s graceful dances in Racha

We all know that Ram Charan is one of the good dancers among the current crop of heroes. He inherited dances moves from his father and also has the style and mannerisms of Chiru. In Racha we are going to witness the ‘Chiranjeevi side’ of Charan in dances.

A song promo of Dillaku Dillaku was released to the press and Charan impresses one and all with his graceful dance moves. His effortless dances coupled with good choreography stands out in this song. On audio this song was just about average, but Charan lifted it with his dances.

There is a buzz that he had danced so well for Racha title song and Cherry Cherry song, which are not revealed to the media yet. Mega power star is showing signs of filling in the big shoes of megastar and has been impressing fans with every film.
