Three arrested in MJM hostel sex scandal

In the now infamous MJM hostel sex scandal, the police on Tuesday arrested three persons, former hostel warden Vijaya Kumari, Administrative Officer Ch Bhaskara Rao and MV Bhaskar Rao and produced them in the court.

The court remanded them till 23rd of this month. The police said they need to arrest some more people.

Based on an media reports on how innocent girls of MJM College hostel in Gannavaram were forced into commercial sex trade, Vijayawada Police Commissioner Madhusudhan Reddy had constituted six teams to probe the matter.

The probing teams have collected the relevant information and evidence. They prima facie established that there was truth in the reports.

Formal complaint on the matter was lodged by members of Child and Women Rights Council at the Gannavaram Police station.

SI Janardhana Rao of Gannavaram PS said based on the information available with the police; some more arrests would be made.

BP Acharya: Luckily he got bail sanctioned and all of a sudden the Court cancelled it ordering him to surrender. This ex chief secretary claimed innocence before media, but is unable to prove to CBI or court. Repeatedly, his lawyers are busy finding clauses that can pull him out on bail.

Tara Chowdary: After getting arrested, the actress lady fired on everyone that some powers are unnecessarily dragging her into mud. However, she has now confessed that to lead a lavish life she took the route of flesh trade and lured many girls into it. Three cases were lodged against Tara and out of which she got bail in two cases. The court reserved their order for Friday to grant her bail in Prevention of Immoral Trafficking case.
