As per the reports, BEL is set to be Shifted from Machilipatnam to Gannavaram. Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) was started in 1954 and was dedicated to the Nation 1972.
The equipments related to the Defense are manufactured in BEL. Along with them INSAT Satellite parts and night vision equipments are also manufactured here. As another 30 acres of land is needed for extension, the authorities are looking to shift the company to another location. Gudur , Nimmaluru are considered for this.
As the foreign customers are expected to visit the company , the authorities are looking ahead to shift the company near to Airport for the convenience of the Foreign customers.
The communists and the locals are opposing this severely.
